ABOUT OUR WINERY
n 2001, the partners of Clovis Point purchased ten acres of farm land with a beautiful barn in the heart of the North Fork on the Main Road in Jamesport with a dream of creating a small top flight vineyard, winery and wine room geared towards lovers of wine, like ourselves. We are committed to investing sufficient resources to insure the quality we wanted both at the vineyard, the winery and in the tasting room. Indeed, the partners are committed to reinvesting all sales proceeds back into the business for a least ten years with the hope that the grape and wine quality will improve every year.
These wines, which are available for purchase, may be tasted in our incredible tasting room. We hope to meet you there soon.

In 2002, we purchased a currently existing vineyard less than a mile away. While that vineyard had seen better days due to a lack of attention, we were confident that with proper attention, the vines there, which were some of the oldest on Long Island, would produce excellent fruit. That has certainly proven to be the case.
Today, with the invaluable help of our vineyard consultant, Peter Gristina, and our winemaker, John Leo, we have almost twenty acres of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Syrah vines currently under production producing high quality fruit and we have four years of wine either in bottle, tank or barrel.
We believe that the wines we have produced are distinctive, not the typical Merlot, Cabernet Franc or Chardonnay, because we actively look to combine lots that have different qualities to make wines that have character and balance. For example, our 2003 Merlot combines 8% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Franc with the remaining Merlot.
Our 2004 Chardonnay includes a small amount of Gewurtzraminer. Our 2004 Merlots combine Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec along with the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
While we hope that our grapes will always provide the backbone of every wine we make, our goal will always be to make remarkably good and interesting wines from the best the North Fork vineyards can provide.
